Again I have been so busy..My husband left on wednsday of last week for deer camp and was gone until Sunday. So I had the house to myself and I cleaned and played. I did more playing but I went through a bunch of stuff in my room and sorted things and rearranged. I rearraged so well that I could not find some things again, but I also found some stuff that I had not seen in a while. Last year when my mom passed away my step-father gave me a lot of my moms crafting stuff. I went through it before but I went through it again.

I finished a quilt for my cousins son who will be having a baby soon.

It was just one of those kits that you get from the quilt store. Super easy and quick... My kind of projects.

I also made a couple of pot holders. I am thinking of making them for Christmas gifts this year. The ones I made will be going to camp for the guys. They were my practice ones :)

I also bought a quilt kit from Connecting Threads. I worked on that also. I have it done just need to quilt it now. This will be a gift for my nephew for Christmas. I really hope he likes it. When it is done it will be a bedroll type quilt...

I also played around with my cricut. I did 4 pages in my scrap book. I also cleaned out a bunch of scrapbooking junk. Well not junk but I think you know what I am talking about. There is a LSB in my area that takes unwanted scrapbooking supplies and they they go to a counsling group for young girls. Part of the therpy is to finish a scrapbook. Which I think is a awesome idea...So now I have a box of goodies for them.

Sorry I have not written in a while.... I have been really busy.... Just don't ask about what because I could not really tell you for sure......

I have been reading a few books some have been really good and some just drag along. I have been golfing a lot. Almost any chance I can get. I know that winter is just around the corner so I want to be out as much as possible. We have started to bowl again. Saturday night was the the 2nd time that we bowled for the new season. Ron and I bowl on a mixed league, it is an every other Saturday night one. Which makes it nice because we are not committed to every Saturday but just enough to have fun with. Plus I get to see my sister on those Saturdays and that is really wonderful.....

I went scrap booking with my sister in law Cheryl and my mother in law a couple of weeks ago. A friend of mine's first baby died when she was about 8 months pregnant. It was really sad. Of course the doctors could not say for sure why. So every year she has a crop called Emily's Scrap. And the proceeds go to "The Baby Pantry" here in town. The baby pantry is a program that helps with low income family or family's in trouble. They have car seats, clothes, diapers, food and anything related to a baby. So Emily's Scrap is for a good cause.

Well they had a cricut machine there with tons of cartridges that you could use..... I have wanted one of these machines for a long time. My sister has one and my mother in law has a small one. Even Becky my co-worker has one. But they run about $300.00 for the Expression.....

Well I bought one last week from HSN.... So I got to play over the weekend. They are really cool. Ron will be going to hunting camp this week so I will be playing while Dad is gone :)

I just have to finish up a baby quilt that I am making for my cousins son who is having a baby. We have the baby shower to go to in a couple of weeks.

I have all the blocks made from that quilt I am making from the Macalls magazine. I am thinking about making it a little larger so it will fit on my bed. I have to figure out how much bigger it needs to be. I am thinking that I may just add another row on. So I will be putting this up until after christmas. That way I can start working on Christmas gifts. I have lots of ideas for Christmas. Now I have to just decide what I am gonna be making......

Well hopefully I will get back to this more this week, maybe I will post some pics of my cricut and some things I have made with it....

Happy Monday

Nine - Eleven-

Isn't it funny how your days just pass you buy and then you have a day where you remember just about everything about it. Nine- eleven is one of those days. I remember I was at work and we were listening to the radio and started hearing a little bit what was happening. My husband was on 3rd shift. So I called him right away and he had the TV on and was telling me that it was true - that a jet intentionally flew into a building in New York and then he said there goes another one.... It was just a sad day. Needlessly sad.

We even went home to get a TV so we could watch what was going on and find out who did this.

Lets give a prayer for so those that lost there lives that day. And to those that are working to keep us safe.

Thursday.....

Sorry I have not been posting- I have been busy doing a little quilting and just enjoying the last of the summer....

Check out the bag I made up. I just love this little thing. I will be able to grab my camera- some cash and away I go. This could have come in handy when Ron and I went to the Buick open. That was where I got the idea at. I seen a couple of ladies with them. But I could not have my camera in there so I just had to use my brain for a minute. Plus I found a pattern in a Quilts and More magazine, but I just changed a couple of things around. I have my new glasses on. I have moved on to the middle age stage. Bifocals. But these are the kind that are three different levels. It has not taken me long to get used to them....I can't think what you call them. (huh middle age)

Please do not look around my house and see all the mess...... I have better things to do than clean house.....
Here is a closeup of my glasses.... Looking pretty good.......

Here is my Ronnie he also got new glasses - I think he needs them worst than me LOL. If he knew that I put this picture here he may have to do something drastic to me but we will keep it out little secret. Shhhhhhh.....

There this looks much better.... Boy I sure do love this man.... I know that the boys are all getting older but it is hard to believe that we have been married for also 23 years.....

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

It is Wednesday ----- My heart is finally back to normal now. We had a bat in the house this morning. We have been getting a few of them this week. With the wet spring and summer we have had tons of bugs and the bats are lovin' it.

I got up a little early this morning and went to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. I took Lucky out side. We were both coming back into the house and it was still kinda dark, I was heading into the bedroom and next thing I knew there was a bat flying about 6 inches from my head.... I just stood there for a moment before it sunk in what had just happened. I yelled and grabbed Lucky and in the bedroom we ran. Ron was pretty bummed out when I told him what had just happened. By the time he got up, Jake was downstairs. Not really sure where the bat went to but I am hoping he went out side.... We haven't had any bats in the house in a couple of years, but this year we have had a few. In the past two weeks there have been at least three. Ron will have to get that fixed :)

I am a little bummed out. Ron is leaving for a golfing trip with his buddies on Friday and coming home on Sunday. I am not looking forward to having a bat flying around while he is not home.....

Last night was my last night golfing on my woman's league... Next week is fun night. It was really hot out and the wind died right down. I was dressed for it be a little cooler.... So I did not golf really well. But not bad either. I had a couple really good putts. That had saved me a little bit.

Tonight Jeff and I have our Ma and Pa league. We are having food after we are done. So that will work - I don't have to make supper tonight. But I did have to make up a surprise dish last night when I got home. I made that Jello and pretzel dessert. I wish I thought a moment more. I could have made that Grape salad. Which would have been a lot easier. I guess I was hungry for the jello stuff. Plus I was using the last of my strawberries from last year. Gotta get them used up so I can get to this years....

Speaking of Lucky and strawberries..... He just loves to eat them so you know how hard he is trying to not look at the berries.....

Cleaned and ready to eat. Don't they look really yummy......

All ready for the freezer..... I think we had about 12 quarts that we froze. Not counting the ones I used in strawberry deserts and gave away.....

Sunday (Aug 9th) was the one year anniversary for Amanda (our daughter in law) death. Everyone stayed pretty busy that day and we had Jeff come over to the house and eat with us. He was doing pretty good. We didn't really talk about what day it was. It still doesnt seen real. But it is what it is........

I started to make a new quilt top last weekend. It is a scrappy one. I found the pattern in the the American patchwork and quilting mag. The center block is the maple leaf and then you add strips like log cabin block. I have all the leaves cut now I just need to sew them all together. I will try and post a picture when I get a moment. I think it will look pretty cool. I am making the leaves in red, burgundy, brown, greens, and a yellow. I even had a bug to make it a little bigger and make it for my bed. But my bed is king size.... I will have to complete a few more of the blocks and see....

Here is a copy of the quilt I am making.....

Have a wonderful day and I hope to post a couple of pics later today

Friday Friday Friday......

I am sitting here at work thinking about all of the stuff I could be sewing at home......

I did make a cute little mini messenger bag for me. Last week when I was at the Buick Open, there were a couple of ladies who had these little bags. They went over there shoulders and came down and sat at their sides. They looked really cute. Something where you could put your camera, cell phone, sunglasses and some money, important stuff! So I made a cute one last night.... I will post pictures later this weekend.

I don't have much planned for this weekend. It is suppose to warm up. My dear husband will going away next weekend. He will be leaving Friday and coming home on Sunday. Normally that is just fine but he is not going to camp. He is going golfing for three days and at 4 different golf courses......He will have a lot of fun. And I am a little bummed but it is with a bunch of guys..... So guess what? You guessed it...... He will be my slave all this weekend... Anything I want to do he will have to go along with.... HeHeee Heee Hee.....

Wish me luck..... I will let you know how it goes...... Hee Hee Hee!!!!

Jalapeno"s

Before baking

We just love jalapenos. We normally have a bunch of plants in our garden. This has not been a good a year for gardens in Michigan. We may be having a really nice cool summer, but the cool mornings are not good for getting veggies to grow and ripe in the garden. Normally I have taken tons of pics of our garden by now, but not this year. (it looks really lame). Our tomatoes are rotting on the vines........

So we normally have lots of jalapenos. We usually eat a couple a night.

It really figures because I found this really yummy way of making them and they are so good. But I have had to buy the jalapenos because we only have a few. I found this recipe on www.pioneerwoman.com, this website has a lot of everything. Almost all of her recipes look really good. But be sure to check her out. She is also so funny. I love her blog......

After baking for 30 mins- Yum!!!!

This is my Lucky dog - Lucky - He just had a birthday last week. He is now 5 years old. We just love him to pieces...... Sometimes.......... No he's a good boy. When we first got Lucky my other dog Ozzie just passed away. And I loved Ozzie so much and I could not bear it. I just cried all the time and I think Ron felt so bad for me, that he would have done anything to help me out. I found Lucky up in Grayling. We went one weekend to check them out and went back the following week to pick him up. He was just a little ball of fur barely weighed 2 lbs and was just a little cutie....... We named him Lucky because I was so lucky to find him. Now we call him Lucky because he's lucky that we keep him : ) ........ He is always so good when I am looking to take some pictures. He takes such good ones.....

There was a squirrl in the back yard and that usually keeps him pretty busy.... We won't let him chase birds but squirrels are his, we don't think he would know what to do with one if he caught one. LOL

Happy Birthday Lucky====

We love you

Happy Thursday

I just finished a wonderful book called "The Perfect Summer" by Luanne Rice. This was a really good book. One of those that you have a hard time putting down. It was not one of my normal reads (sereal killer, total mystery, or a little love lost type) There was a little mystery involved but the story was manly about a mom and her children. A very good take me away from life type book. This was one of my first Luanne Rice books. And I will looking for more of them.

I hemmed a couple of pairs of my blue jeans last night. The first pair were an older beater type jeans. They needed to be hemmed quite a bit (2 inches) but they turned out pretty good. The second pair only had to be hemmed an inch and they turned out much better. Now that I know that I can do, I will have to start heming more. The jeans are so long anymore, even if you wear heals which I don't, they would still be long. I will try and post a picture later.

I am still really excited about going to the Buick Open. The weather looks like it is gonna be awesome, a little sunny and warmer. This has been one of our cooler summers, but I have really enjoyed it. We havent had to use the air only a couple of times this summer.

Jeff and I will be finishing up the Ma and Pa golf league. One of couples will not be able to golf the rest of the season. Now we have to pay but that is ok. We both have a really good time and enjoy each other.

Well I better get back to work. Talk later

Have a great day

Looking good. All cleaned up.

I just want to say a couple of quick words. We got back from my nephew Christopher wedding in Toledo. What a nice wedding it was. He has been in the Army since he graduated from high school.

Here is Christopher and Uncle Ron. Both looking good.

Bob (dad) and Cheryl (mom) looking proud and happy....

Here is our oldest - Jeff and Katie (Bob and Cheryl's youngest). Katie and Jacob (#3) are just one year apart, but they both graduated this year from High School. Katie looks really pretty and Jeff really looks good. Men always look good in a tux.

Here is the Compeau clan minus Dena (#4)- Dale Jr (#1) Cheryl (#2) Mom Dad and Ron (#3 )

It was a really nice wedding. We got to spend the night in a hotel - (Country Inn) that is always fun. Ron and I made a trip out of it. We were gonna go golfing but that did'nt work out so we hit Cabela's on the way home and made a stop at a golf store (GolfSmith) and I got a new putter and Ron bought a new wedge. He seems to have a wedge fedish..... But I would never tell him that....

I have finish another one of my purses that I started the other day.

Here a couple of pics

Please pay no mind to the background of both of these pics- One is my sewing room and it needs to be cleaned and the other is an old dresser that I got from my mom but it works awesome for craft supplies....

I really liked how this one turned out. I just need to add some cardboard to the bottom of it. To make it a little more stable. I can't wait to use it. I got the pattern from another one of the Quilts and More magazine.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I think we are having a cookout. Will try and get more pics this weekend.

Take care Teri

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Well here is the bag that I made Sunday. I need to redo the handles because they are a little stretchy. They called for synthetic leather and I had something that was kinda like that but it was a little to stretchy...... Besides I think I like the shorter handles anyway...I may even use the same fabric as the bag.....

This pattern came out of a Quilts and More magazine. I also used a heavier fabric than what the pattern called for. But I love it... Just need shorter handles..

See my little grommets that I put in. They were really easy. Especially after my hubby showed me how : ) I want to find more things to make with the grommets maybe a couple of cool looking golf towels for my golf partner!!

July 12th 2009

Here are the scrappy toppers I made for on top of my washer and dryer. When you walk in the back door you have to walk by them, so they looked really awesome. This is the best that my washer and dryer looked in a long time.

Sorry I have not been posting much lately, but I was busy with a Graduation open house which went really well. We seen family we had not seen in a while and then it was 4th of July weekend. We did'nt go anywhere except to golf all weekend. And I golfed awesome..... Had a nice relaxing time.

I have had my nose in a couple of really good books lately. I read a Nora Roberts "Carolina Moon" which was good except after a couple of chapters I thought I may have read it before, it was really good and yes I had read it. This week I read a Lisa Jackson "Final Scream" which was good and fast. I have another Lisa Jackson "Fatal Burn" but I can not start it yet until I do some sewing today.....

Today I hope to make a new purse and I will post some pics of it later today... My husband is going out of town golfing so I have the whole day to myself.

I found a couple of bags that I want to make, last night I cut the fabric for one of them and hope to get it sewn and then I have the fabric for another that I hope to make today but I do have to make dinner (crockpot) have that covered and laundry, but I think that can be done. Both patterns came out of a Quilts and More magazine, which has become a favorite mag for me, they have a little bit of everything in them.....

Have a enjoyable Sunday and I will talk later.......Teri

June 13th 2009

Well sorry I have not posted in a week. It has been a busy one.

I just finished reading Dead until Dark (Southern Vampire Series) this is also the miniseries on HBO Trueblood. It started out pretty slow, but it was actually pretty good. I can't wait to read the next one. It was pretty graphic in parts, but I have found that I could really like a few of the characters. I'm not really a fang banger type person, I am more into the witches and warlocks.

Well I have two Saturdays to go(this Saturday and next) until Jacobs open house and it is now raining out. I need to get some yard work done and shampoo the carpet, which when it is drizzling out is not a good idea. The carpet will not dry and the mosquitoes will carry me away outside in the drizzle. So maybe I will go shopping instead, or work on some sewing.

I was so bummed that the wings lost last night, but they had a hell of year. I just dread looking at the sports pages though, I would like to find out the score on the Tigers game. Besides now we will find out what all the injuries were on the players...

I finished up my last runner for the dryer last night. All done, I just need to put them on and I will take a picture and hope to get posted on here. I think I will head into my sewing room and clean it up a little and then maybe get sewing on Bonnies new mystery that was in the Quiltmaker mag. I have always wanted to do one of her mysteries but never had the time they also go so fast on them. I think this one is for three months.......

Happy Birthday to my Middle son (RJ) today he turns 22 years old. Boy I am getting old : )

Sunday, June 7, 2009

Well yesterday did not go as planned. I went golfing instead of shampooing the carpet. That still needs to get done, but not today it looks like rain. But Lucky got groomed, I took pictures but they are still on the camera, will try for them later. And Ron got the garden planted. He hopes everything will be ok because it was still wet but he wanted to get it planted because it was suppose to rain last night and today. He planted about 8 tomato plants and about 8 pepper plants. We also need to find some pickles to plant.

And best of all this is what happened last night at the Joe..... Osgood had a shut out. What better way to shut up some Penguin fans and that is to have a shut out. The refs were really calling some penalties and the Wings were playing hockey their way and not the Penguins way..... Way to go wings.... Lets just do it again on Tuesday. Games are 3-2 in the Wings favor.

Later to night I have to go to my stepfathers house and pick up some things from there. Our mother passed away in October. And my stepdad has a new girlfriend. I am happy for him but I just think that he is rushing things a little to fast. So he is having an auction sale and I think moving in with this lady. So we need to go over to the house and pick up a few things left there of moms that we want. So wish me luck on that one because I am really gonna need it.....

Saturday, June 6, 2009

It is a Saturday. Ron got the garden rototilled yesterday, but something is wrong with the rototiller now. Hopefully it will be something minor... Did get anything planted, because we went golfing instead. I golfed like crap but I was trying some different things, so that doesn't really count :-) But that also doesn't explain about the putting...... But it was also beautiful out side so who cares...

I need to take our dog Lucky to be groomed this afternoon. I am taking him in earlier than the 6 weeks but I have plans for next Saturday(his appointed day) and with getting ready for Jacob and Katie (niece) open house my weekends are getting less and less.

Lucky does not care to go see Mary, but its one of those things that you have to do whether you want to or not...Besides he always looks and smells so much nicer. I will post some before and after pics, when I get home.

My wings are on tv again tonight for game 5. Lets hope they kick some Pens butt and make Fleuy wish he was not the goalie. I have high hopes for them tonight. They will be in the Joe (home ice) and that always works for them.....

Have a really wonderful day

Teri

It's Friday....

It's friday and the sun is shining outside....

But I am so bummed that the Wings lost last night. They really played bad, and then my oldest son comes over and is complaining about the wings. I was so glad he left, he had me so worked up and it was only the first period..... I told Dad, you don't come into my house and complain about my Wings : ) But I could never tell Jeff that.....

Our oldest son Jeff (27) is such a sweetheart but he has really gone through some really bad times. His wife of 4 years died in a car accident last August. And on top of that, they had just found out she was bipolar, and she had not been taking her meds and Jeff could not take it anymore and moved out. So he had major guilt all around. He just loved her so much. I keep thinking he is gonna find someone who will just love him and really appreciate him. But he is so gun shy now. He keeps saying he will never marry again and does'nt know why people get married.....I know time will heal. He was just to young to have to deal with it all....

Off to better things.... I hope our garden may be dry enough to finally plant. It is still gonna be a little wet but it is suppose to rain on Sunday and if we don't get it in now we never will.....

Have a great weekend....

My baby has graduated

Just got back home, here is a pic of my baby boy Jacob. Proud Mom and Dad...

He just graduated from High school, now he is on to better things Work : )

Now I am off to watch the red wings play......

May 31st 2009

Today my youngest son will be graduating from High School. It looks like it will be a beautiful day for it. I hope to post a few pictures later this evening.

May 27th

My husband is gone golfing tonight, so I quilted on a couple table runners that I am making to cover my washer and dryer. They are scrappy fabric which I love so very much. My sewing machine was making a weird sound. I just cleaned it but I should take it in the be serviced. It has been a little over a year. Bummer.

I am an avid Red Wing hockey fan. And tonight they are playing. Hopefully they will finish up Chicago and move on to the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Penguins again. This time the Pens have a little more experience but they are missing one of there key players because he is a red wing this year.

May 26th 2009

Had a wonderful weekend. Worked in the yard. Our youngest son is graduating this week from high school. So we need to get the yard looking good.
